Welcome to the Nevada Middle
School Science Bowl!

March 3-4, 2017

Registration is due on  January 18, 2017

The National Nuclear Security Administration Nevada Field Office (NNSA/NFO), is pleased to announce the 2016 Nevada Science Bowl for middle school competition taking place on March 3-4, 2017 at the National Atomic Testing Museum and the Henderson International School campus. We would be honored to have your school field a team for this event.

Thirty-two teams from middle schools in Southern Nevada are welcome to participate in this round-robin double-elimination competition. Monetary awards are given to the first through fourth place teams for use in their school's mathematics/science departments. Although other Science Bowl competitions will take place throughout the country, individual schools may only enter one regional competition per year.

If you are considering entering more than one team, please submit a separate registration packet for each team. The goal is to field single teams from 32 different middle schools. You may register an additional team from your school, but the second team will be held until the deadline. If there are not 32 individual school teams received by the deadline, the second teams will be placed in order of the postmark date. Every effort will be made to accommodate all registered teams, but we must adhere to the 32 total team limit. A team consists of one coach, an optional co-coach, four team players and one alternate.

The team that wins the Nevada Science Bowl competition will be eligible to compete in the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 27 - May 1, 2017. All members of the winning regional team must commit to participate in the National Science Bowl or the second-place team will be asked to substitute.
